Success Story: Founder of Underground Church Granted Asylum

On July 17, 2008, another client of our office received her asylum approval from the asylum office with the accompanying of Attorney Stewart Lin.  This client came to our office almost immediately after she arrived at the US and sought help from Lin & Valdez to file the asylum petition for her.  Just 4 months after she came here, we have obtained the asylum approval for her.  The officers in the asylum office wished her “long, happy and fruitful life in the US” while giving her the approval notice.

Although we are confident that we will obtain the approval for this client, each approval is still a thrilling and sweet conclusion to everyone involved.  In this case, our client is an underground church founder in her country.  She was a life-time Christian who after a car crash and an announcement of her doctor that she would be crippled for the rest of her life, decided to found a church in her town.  In addition, with four children, she severely violated the population control policy of her country.  Consequently, she experienced terribly back in her country.

In the interview, even attorney Stewart Lin was so moved by her testimony he could not help shed tears.  We are happy that we can help this client to start a new life in the US.  Also, as one of the client’s children is in the US in F-1 visa, this child was added into the petition as a beneficiary.  With the approval, we have obtained new I-94s for both of them.  They would now be able to apply for working permit, to apply for the other members of the family to come to the US, and to apply for green card one year from July 17, 2008.
