On July 18, 2011, an immigration judge in Houston granted asylum to one of our clients after merit hearing in the immigration court.
Our client in this case is a female. She entered the US illegally fleeing from her country due to problem with local authorities about birth control issue. While in detention, she was interviewed by the BICE agent, and upon releasing from the detention, she retained our office to represent her.
Attorney Stewart Lin represented the client in the removal proceeding in the immigration court. At the end of the merit hearing, the Court found that our client is well-qualified for asylum and granted the relief. The government counsel waived appeal, and as such the court’s ruling becomes final.
