On July 16, 2012, Attorney Stewart Lin helped a client of our office obtain the approval from the US Immigration Judge for adjustment of status, and as such finished the 6-year ordeal of this client.
This client actually was previously granted asylum status. Unfortunately, the client’s asylum status was terminated by the government because the client went back to the client’s country to visit the ailing parents. With the termination of asylum status, the client was back in the removal proceedings.
In the mean time, the client married with the client’s US spouse. The petition by the US spouse for the client, however, encountered great difficulty in the USCIS as the USCIS sent out a Notice of Intent to Deny the application. Through our help, our client overcame this hurdle and obtained the approval. Finally, on July 16, 2012, with Mr. Stewart Lin’s accompany and representation, our client received the approval from the Immigration Court for adjustment of status. By that, the client’s ordeal trying to legalize the client’s status reached a pleasant ending.
