About from two weeks ago, the DFLC Backlog Processing Centers have started sending letters out to cases transferred to them for processing. The ※white package§ sent out includes a notification letter, a correction list, and a Selection of Continuation Option Letter.
As widely known by the public, the labor certification processing has been badly jammed, even for ※RIR§ application which was once touted as a speedier way of processing. The establishment of the Backlog Processing Center is supposed to speed up the processing of those backlogged cases. However, even if a case does not need any correction, the BPC still asks the employer to respond and verify with the Selection of Continuation Option Letter that the employer is still pursuing the application.
It looks like the letter is not sent for the purpose of speeding up the processing, but to delaying it. Maybe the Department of Labor should not keep sending letters to ask employers whether they intend to pursue the pending cases. The longer the waiting time the Department creates, the more letters of that type it needs to send out. What a vicious circle the Department has created!
